Abstract
Background: The intention of this study was to see if there have been any changes in the labour supply of hospital physicians after the implementation of the hospital reform in 2002. Several studies have shown that physicians spend less time on patient related work and that the productivity has decreased.
Method:The data material in this thesis is based on second handed data. Two surveys were conducted in 2001 and 2006 on randomly collected hospital physicians by the Physician register.
Results: Hospital physicians have decreased their total working time with approximately 1 hour in 2006, and increased their amount of patient related work by approximately 3 % (1 hour) in the same year.
Conclusion: There have been modest changes in working time, bu it can not be concluded that the hospital reform have had any effect on working hours and time allocation,
