Sammendrag
Mange norske reklamefilmer spiller på humor for å nå frem med sitt budskap. Denne oppgaven ser nærmere på dette fenomenet ved å analysere fire norske reklamefilmer, produsert i perioden 2001-2003. Dette gjøres ved å først analysere reklamefilmenes meningsproduksjon gjennom en kvalitativ tekstanalyse, basert på semiotisk-, retorisk- og fortellerteoretisk teori og metode. På bakgrunn av dette, analyseres deretter reklamefilmenes merkevarebygging, med fokus på reklamefilmenes bruk av humor som strategi. Dette gjøres i en kontekst av humorteori, og teori om merkevarebygging. Til slutt i oppgaven blir det påvist tendenser innen norsk reklamefilm, og det konkluderes i forhold til koblingen mellom humor og merkevarebygging.
Abstract
A great deal of Norwegian TV commercials can be characterized as humoristic. This thesis takes a closer look at this, by analyzing four Norwegian TV commercials produced in the period 2001-2003. Firstly, it is necessary to examine the TV commercials by a qualitative content analysis based on semiotic-, rhetoric- and narrative theory. Secondly, the aspect of branding in the TV commercials will be explored. This examination will focus on the humoristic strategies that can be found in the TV commercials. The theoretic context here, is branding theory and humor theory. Finally, there will be pointed out some tendencies in Norwegian TV commercials in general, and there will be drawn some conclusion about the relationship between humor and branding.
