Sammendrag
Denne oppgaven omhandler pressens musikkdekning.
Abstract
This thesis is about the Norwegian daily papers music journalism. The debate about the culture journalism in the nineties was very much a debate about its crisis. In this decade the press also started in a greater sense to give attention to popular culture and the entertainment industry. In most of the leading newspapers pop music journalism established itself as a programmed feature on Tuesdays. Some argued that the culture journalism had become a promotion vehicle, and had lost its original trademarks of critique and debate. This study starts off from this discussion, and asks how the music journalism can be understood as a marketing arena , and if it has lost its critical aspect. To get an insight into these matters it is necessary to examine the music journalism through different journalistic genres and types of content. This text analysis includes five chapters with different theoretical perspectives, where the music journalism is seen through: the album- and concert preview, the news story, the celebrity story, music reviews and the commentary columns.
